Moving Jetways at LHBP
« on: November 06, 2017, 12:46:27 PM »
We receive sometimes the request / wish to have our jetways at LHBP animated. In the next version we would like to fulfill this requirement but we have a question to all of you:

Which solution do you prefer:

1. Default animation means, we will use the standard method in FSX and create custom animation for the Jetway. The model will be the same as today, just animated. So it does not mean we will use default jetway model. This is the more stable solution but has some bugs in some cases, like wheels of the jetway ditches under the ground sometimes.

2. SODE - SimObject Display Engine : There is a free tool available on the market to make animated jetways with separate simconnect dll control. Much more precise movements. Disadvantage you have to install a 3rd party software to make it work. As this is again a DLL it creates a certain complexity again.

Thanks for your vote!

Why?  ;)

For me the animation is more believable and also has some integration with GSX. I'm already running SODE for other scenery that supports it, so for me there is nothing more to add.

Alright. SODE it is / will be.

Can you recommend a scenery where SODE is implemented nicely with preferably LHBP alike jetways?

If anybody has experience in the creation of SODE jetways and willing to help we are very very welcome!

Please guys kindly consider updating the scenery to match the current layout as well as add dynamic lighting. Not expecting a free of charge update - it all could be released as a brand new product such as Budapest v2 or Budapest 2018 etc.

Really? That is the best news ever! Living in the UK as a Hungarian, it's a little piece of home in the virtual skies whenever I simulate a flight to Budapest - and meanwhile I like many, many airports, nothing compares to landing in BUD. The news that you are planning an update has really made my day!  I will looove you forever! ;D ;D ;D

[GSX Level 2] Moving Jetways at LHBP
« Reply #11 on: September 17, 2018, 23:26:58 PM »
Hey!

Sorry for bringing this back again, but seems to implement these just got easier with the latest GSX Level 2, we could have people going in jetways and much more. This could be really a good time to do it. What's the issue? Do you guys have a lack of developers? I would like to help by any chance if possible.

Thanks! We've just made very good progress with SODE so most probably we stay with that solution.
