Library base pack question

The only product I have from lhsimulations is LHBP.

I tried running it as is and then with the Library base pack in the scenery layer below it - while AES is right over it.

Have not noticed any changes in either performance or level of detail.

So the question is: Do I really need it ? How can I tell the difference ?
