Hi guys,
I thought I would just add what I have found out as concisely as possible:
Problem: Various crashes approaching, on apron and taxiing at LHBP.
Further Explanation of the Problem: Crashes exist whenever 'LHBP_objectPlacer.dll' (LHSimulations - LHBP) and 'as_btstrp.dll' (HiFi - Active Sky Next and Active Sky 16 SP1) are actively running at the same time and both evident in the dll.xml (AppData Roaming). The system freezes and throws a range of errors including: api.dll, KERNELBASE.dll and menu.dll.
Temporary Solutions: Either using 'LHBP_objectPlacer.dll' (LHSimulations - LHBP) or 'as_btstrp.dll' (HiFi - Active Sky Next and Active Sky 16) on their own (one without the other) allows the simulator to remain stable. They can also potentially work together within certain weather conditions, although the sim will eventually crash.
Attempts: I have tried the following things to eliminate possible causes, resulting in a stable or crash situation:
1. Loaded default aircraft and airport without LHBP and dll.xml entry (dll.xml entry = LHBP_objectPlacer.dll installed) - stable
2. Loaded default aircraft with LHBP and dll.xml entry installed - crash
3. Loaded into default LHTL with LHBP and the dll.xml entry installed - crash
4. Loaded default LHBP and kept dll.xml entry - crash
5. Changed numerous AS16 settings with LHBP and dll.xml entry installed - crash
6. Removed Prepar3D.cfg and cleared my Nvidia Inspector Profile with LHBP and dll.xml entry installed - crash
7. Installed ASN in both Program Files (x86) and the root of C: (Local Disk) - No difference, still crashed
Further information: Using Prepar3D v3.2, Windows 10 Pro (64-bit), I have been able to make a consistent crash with the following weather in ASN and AS16 SP1:
'@03:00 UTC on 24/12/2016 at LHBP in ASN Historical Weather' also 'LHBP 232300Z 2400/2424 VRB03KT 5000 BR OVC005 TEMPO 2400/2409 0500 -FZDZ FZFG OVC001 TEMPO 2409/2418 3000 BR TEMPO 2410/2418 OVC010 TEMPO 2418/2424 BKN014 OVC035
LHBP 240230Z VRB03KT 1500 -FZDZ BR OVC002 M02/M02 Q1035 R88/29//95 NOSIG
Decoded textual weather for LHBP
Wind: Variable at 3 knots
Variable wind direction from 000 to 360
Visibility: 0.9 SM (1500 m)
Clouds: Overcast at 200 feet
Temperature: -2.0C
Dewpoint: -2.0C
Precipitation: Light freezing rain
Altimeter: 1035 mb (30.56 inches)
This station includes complete surface weather information, interpolation disabled.'
Conclusion: Hopefully all of this is of some use. My concluding thoughts are that there's a conflict between the Active Sky dll entry and the LHSimulations dll entry. I hope you guys can work on a solution. Please give me a shout if you need any further help
Many thanks for such a beautiful scenery and all of your hard work.
